When most people think about lobbying they think about big corporation trying to get what they want from politicians. In some aspect this is correct. However lobbyist are for everyone, micro enterprises to huge corporations. The idea of lobbying is to advocate towards your wishes/concerns regarding legislative process. Although it does not have to be about law that is being made.
Lobbyist can advocate towards social issues that are close to you and you would like the government to look more closely at them.

It is a mistake to think that if you are located outside EU, you do not have to think about policies that are being created there.
